Silver

I got a hold of some junk silver half dollars a while back. They were pretty tarnished, so I figured I'd shine them up a little. They're just some old Kennedy halves, I highly doubt they have any numismatic value.

They're purty.

Silver coinage went away when I was 2 years old. I doubt there was any left in circulation by time I was old enough to handle money.

I never handled a real silver coin until last year. They feel different. They sound different when you drop one on the table.

They just seem more substantial than the stuff we have now.

Not surprising, considering that what passes for money nowadays has no more intrinsic value than Chuck-E-Cheese tokens.

It's nice to hold REAL money in your hands.

Better hang onto them. They might be good trading commodities after the crash.
