Last Sunday, 2 days after the lovely storms hit us out here in KY, my wife, "Momma" on the blog, was hit with a mild stroke. Well, as mild as a stroke can be; no matter how small, any stroke is devastating to the brain and the body in general.
She is weak on the left side, and has a slight hesitancy or stutter to her speech. Far as we know, it hasn't affected her cognition or her visual fields.
Being an RN, who has worked with many many stroke patients in rehab, I curse myself for not having seen it quickly enough to have helped, although I am managing to do that less as time goes on.
She's still here, she's still her, and we will get through this.
These things happen suddenly, and it could have been a lot worse. Love your people, now, while they're still here.

Prayers for you both.
Don't beat yourself up, we all do the best we can. I'm glad the damage is minimal and will be praying for a full return to normal for your wife. May God bless you both.
I will keep her (and you) in my prayers.

Prayer for you both from our corner of the world as well, healing for Momma and grace for you. So, so thankful it wasn't worse.
Best wishes to her for a speedy recovery.
