Normally I would expect the president to actually BE the president during times of world/domestic crisis, instead of filling in brackets, escaping to Latin America, hitting the links for the 69th time, etc., but this IS 0bama.
I think I'd rather he kept distracting himself with these things. Then he'd have less time to meddle in the affairs of government and make our lives even MORE miserable than they already are.
